President’s Message

Lynette Spano epitomizes the American Dream. A charismatic and influential business woman, her Latino heritage and life story is one of true passion, determination, success and inspiration. She is best known for her entrepreneurial success and pivotal speeches that ignite interest and render inspiration. Having survived both viral meningitis and a brain aneurysm, Ms. Spano has a zest for life and a contagious spirit. Today, her company, SCI Consulting Services, Inc., is one of the most recognized female-owned IT support companies in the country. She has won endless awards and recognition for her entrepreneurial success, and continues to serve as an influential female business leader.

Growing up in one of the poorest sections of Brooklyn, New York, Ms. Spano learned at a young age that her future was dependent upon her hard work and perseverance. At age 8 she began shining shoes in a local park, and it was there she discovered her destiny as an entrepreneur. In 1985 she started Software Control International, known today as SCI Consulting Services, Inc. After its first year in business SCI boasted $1.7 million dollars in sales. Today, SCI has expanded into a 300-person, $50 million dollar federal IT contractor, and under the leadership of Ms. Spano, remains one of the most successful female and minority-owned businesses in the country.
